One day, a hungry lion met a mouse. The lion caught the mouse and was about to eat him. The mouse begged: ‘If you would only spare my life, I would be sure to repay your kindness.’ Though the lion didn’t believe the mouse, he let him go. It happened shortly after this that the lion was caught by some hunters, who bound him by strong ropes to the ground. The mouse, recognizing his roar, came up, gnawed the ropes with his sharp teeth, set the lion free. Finally, the lion was ashamed that he looked down upon the little mouse. He realized that ‘Each has its strong points’.
At first, we, like the lion, may ridiculed the idea that a mouse can save a lion. We even doubt if there is a chance the lion can receive any repayment of his favor. But from this story we know that it is possible for even a mouse to confer benefits on a lion.”
So, everyone has advantages. We should neither improperly belittle ourselves nor look down on others. We must know ourselves better, explore our own advantages, and be confident. Then we can make great progress in study!
